We offer one of the broadest ranges of cashmere products in the market. You will find the right cashmere yarn for any project: from a lace quality like CASHMERE DREAMS through a classic DK yarn like CASHMERE PREMIUM to something lofty and light such as CASHMERE LIGHT. And all of these in an extraordinary range of colors.
We source the cashmere fibers from Mongolia and China. These are processed to make yarn at the factories of our partner in Italy. The fibers are washed and carded, then dyed before or after spinning and plying, depending on the quality. For the most part, our cashmere yarns are cabled yarns. With this method the yarns are not subjected to further twisting, thus retaining their natural volume and leading to the production of especially soft and light yarns. All cashmere yarns listed in the table have a cashmere fiber diameter between 15.5 and 16.9 microns.
How to care for Cashmere
Although cashmere wool has a good breaking strength, cashmere clothing is a little more delicate than clothing made of sheep’s wool. With repeated washing, the ends of fibers may loosen from the yarn to cause pilling on the surface. This can be dealt with using a lint razor, which will remove the pilling to leave the clothes looking like new again. Pilling does not mean inferior quality. On the contrary, pilling occurs where especially fine fibers have been used in a yarn.
Cashmere acts naturally as an odour neutraliser and should therefore be washed as infrequently as possible. In this way, your crochet and knit pieces will stay beautiful for longer. If it is necessary to wash a cashmere garment, we recommend that you wash by hand using a wool wash detergent. Hand-made cashmere garments should be laid flat to dry, so that they do not lose their shape.Would you like more information about the care icons? Click here.
